Goldman Sachs “Black in Business” course transformed my career.

Being accepted into cohort two of Goldman Sachs’ Black in Business 12-week course was nothing short of life-changing. From the moment I arrived in New York City, I felt the weight and the promise of the program. Goldman Sachs covered transportation, gave us access to incredible panelists and speakers, and provided a deep dive into the world of business all designed to set Black women entrepreneurs up for success.

The program lasted 12 weeks and included both in-person sessions and virtual workshops. I was assigned my own business advisor, Karen, and placed in a cohort of brilliant women who were running their own businesses. For me, it was a revelation. Before this program, I genuinely thought P&L stood for portrait and landscape, not profit and loss. Over the course, I learned so much about knowing my customers, building a strong business plan, and understanding the financial mechanics of running a business lessons I couldn’t have gained anywhere else.

Goldman Sachs designed this program with a clear mission: to change the lives of one million Black women by giving them the tools, mentorship, and networks they need to grow and thrive as business owners. The curriculum isn’t just about numbers or strategy; it’s about empowerment, community, and creating lasting impact. Being part of this cohort reminded me that success isn’t just about talent or hard work it’s also about having the right guidance, support, and access.

This experience didn’t just teach me about business it transformed the way I view my career, my art, and my potential as an entrepreneur. It gave me confidence, clarity, and the push to take my work seriously as both a creative and a business.

If you’re a Black woman thinking about applying, I can’t recommend this program enough. Goldman Sachs wants to help you succeed they’re looking for women who are ready to grow, learn, and turn their ideas into thriving businesses. Don’t underestimate the power of mentorship, network, and training this program can open doors you didn’t even know existed.

For me, it was a game-changer. For you, it could be too.
