Out All Night: A Celebration of Trenton’s Nightlife
Have you ever had a night so full of laughter, music, and energy that you wished you could bottle it up and keep it forever? That’s exactly what inspired my painting “Out All Night.”
This piece began on one unforgettable evening at Al Lee’s in Trenton — a local bar filled with music, friends, and the kind of joy you can only find when community comes together. We laughed, we drank, we partied, and I snapped photo after photo, determined to capture that energy on canvas.
The result was “Out All Night” a vibrant, colorful oil painting that shows a crowded bar alive with motion. You can almost hear the hum of conversation as the bartender pours drinks, the clinking of glasses, and the rhythm of the night carrying everyone along.
While some have compared the vibe of the scene to Ernie Barnes’ famous “Sugar Shack” full of movement, energy, and cultural celebration my style is uniquely my own. What ties them together is the way they immortalize a slice of nightlife that feels familiar to so many of us.
Why “Out All Night” Matters to Trenton
This painting isn’t just about a bar scene, it’s about our city. Trenton, NJ has always been a place where community shines brightest when we gather, celebrate, and share space together. For me, “Out All Night” is both a memory and a love letter to Trenton’s people, culture, and resilience.
The original oil painting has already sold, but I created a limited run of fine art Giclée prints so more collectors could bring this moment home. As of today, only 5 prints remain.
